Dance Classes Classes will introduce the beginning forms of studio dance and terminology with lots of encouragement and fun! Dancers learn various structured dance objectives through the OC Dance progression plan, complete with handout for parents and children to track their accomplishments. All classes learn a dance routine to perform on last day of class and optional spring performances. Each session consists of new dance routines and themes. Princess Ballet 11078 M Jan 13-Mar 30* 6:05-7pm *No class Jan 20, Feb 17 Dancers will enter a world of imagination and magic through beginning ballet, creative movement, strength exercises, and a sprinkle of pixie dust! Dancers learn ballet fundamentals, terminology, hear princess stories, dress in princess tutus, while using their “magic wands”. Performance of skill- based routine on last day of class. Ballet shoes required. Two crafts per session. Eligible for spring recital, see information box below. Performers learn about creating characters, articulation, projection, rhythm and working with their peers. Basic choreography and lyrics will be featured this session, with performers also playing imaginative acting/character games and working on stage presence and confidence. Participants will learn the fundamentals of rhythmic tap, jazz, classical ballet in a fun, noncompetitive environment. Creative movement activities also assist in musicality, rhythm, strength, and listening skills. Performance of skill-based routine on last day of class. Ballet (or jazz shoes) and tap shoes required. Participants will learn beginning jazz and hip hop moves, combinations and choreography to popular artists, such as Taylor Swift, JoJo Siwa, and other current favorites.
