Dear Neighbors, Jeanette DeMeneces
The new Crown Valley Park Community Center is on the way! The
City of Laguna Niguel Parks and Recreation Department is looking
forward to sharing with the community a new community center,
pool deck renovations, and the expansion of recreation classes,
events, and programs. Construction of a 30,000-square foot,
three-story building, will begin on August 13, 2018, and is estimated
to be completed in spring 2020. During the construction process,
the Parks & Recreation Registration Office and staff offices will
be relocated to the Crown Valley Park softball field, and aquatic
operations will be temporarily relocated near the YMCA. The City
of Laguna Niguel appreciates your continued patience during
the project as the construction will heavily impact parking and
operations throughout Crown Valley Park. Recreation Coordinator
Tier 3 improvements will include the following:
• Multi-Purpose Room with a 300-Person Dining Capacity
• Catering Kitchen
• Multi-Purpose Classrooms
• Art Room
• Dance and Fitness Room
• Collaborative Tech Room
• Festival Plaza and Pedestrian-Oriented Amenities
• Roof Deck Patio (overlooking the pool)
• Locker Rooms with Private Showers and Family Locker Rooms
• Pool Deck Renovations
While the City will make every effort to minimize Pool closures,
pool deck improvements are expected to cause a significant
closure in order to provide a first-class experience for our residents.
Improvements during the construction process will minimize the
need for closures in future years. Regular Pool users are encouraged
to sign up for the Notify Me feature at CityofLagunaNiguel.org
(calendar/aquatics) to receive updates.

project including timelines, progress, and closures, please

Ashley Melchor
Recreation Secretary
Ashley began her public service career
volunteering for special events in the City of Lake
Forest during high school. She loved interacting
with the community and enjoyed making people
smile. Soon after, she attended California State
University, Fullerton where she received her
Bachelor’s in Public Administration while working part-time in
Public Works for the City of Lake Forest and the City of Irvine.
Serving the public was her passion, so she decided to continue her
education and work toward her Master’s in Public Administration.
Three years later, she is anxiously waiting to graduate and receive
her diploma in May 2018.
Ashley has been with the City of Laguna Niguel as the Sea Country

getting to know and interact with seniors, as they always have a
wealth of knowledge to share.
