A Message From
Parks and Recreation
Dear Neighbors,
As summer is quickly approaching, we
invite you to connect with the endless
opportunities available through the Parks and
Recreation Department. The Department’s
primary goal is to provide a wide variety of
innovative, diverse and inclusive recreational
and cultural opportunities which enhance the
quality of life for residents of Laguna Niguel.
As a member of the California Park and
Recreation Society (CPRS), Laguna Niguel is
proud to join other cities in a unified message
that Parks Make Life Better! By bringing
awareness and importance
to Parks and Recreation,
our Department aims to
improve your quality of life.
We offer a wide variety of
classes, summer camps,
special events and programs
for participants of all ages. We provide
access to special interest activities such as
volunteering, adult excursions, summer
concerts, skating boarding, BMX bike riding,
swimming, diving or exploring the many
hiking trails here in Laguna Niguel. Find what
inspires you…explore your imagination…
build relationships…create your future.
Come out and celebrate all that is new in
Crown Valley Park! The City will unveil its new
sprayground, playground and amphitheater
this summer. Contact the Parks and
Recreation Department for more information
and come out and play!

Alison Giglio
Parks and Recreation
Director
When some people
think about Parks and
Recreation, the first thing
that may come to mind is
a TV show, but for others
it’s about fun activities,
sports, hiking, biking, trails, parks, swimming,
skateboarding, senior activities, teen programs, the
list goes on. Well, your City’s Parks and Recreation
Department provides all that and more!
Under the direction of Alison Giglio, the New Parks and
Recreation Director, the Department is responsible for
the planning and administration of all City recreation
programs and activities. Alison was hired in August
2001 as a Coordinator at the Sea Country Senior and
Community Center. Prior to her being hired in 2001,
she worked for the City of Brea Senior Center and
coached high school cross country. She was promoted
to Supervisor of the City’s Special Events and Contract
Classes in September 2003. Her devotion, dedication
and knowledge of recreation lead her to her new role
as Director of Parks and Recreation in November 2014.
Alison is a native Southern Californian who enjoys
waterskiing, camping, sports and is a diehard Angels
fan with her husband of 13 years and two children.
Alison, along with her devoted and well- trained
staff, are committed to providing a wide variety of
innovative, diverse and inclusive recreational and
cultural opportunities to the community. She feels “it
is a privilege to work in a beautiful community with
the BEST people, parks, facilities and programs! Every
day is an adventure and I am blessed to work with
dedicated, positive and creative employees who thrive
on making this a better place to live, work and play.”
To provide a wide variety of innovative, diverse and inclusive
