Celebrating 30 years of Cityhood
The holiday season was a busy and festive one for the
Laguna Niguel Military Support Committee (LNMSC)!
The LNMSC was hard at work in their ongoing efforts
to support the troops and families of the USS Stockdale,
1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, and 1st Assault
Helicopter Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment. The
LNMSC completed its annual Holiday Toy drive at which
they collected hundreds of toys that were given to the
families of our supported units at their holiday parties.
The wives and children of the Marines and Sailors, who
are deployed, along with soldiers of the 140th, marched in
this year’s Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade.
In October, the LNMSC held Its annual fundraiser “Tribute
to Our Military” dinner gala with stories from Commanders
from the 1/4 Marines and the USS Stockdale. Through the
hard work of the committee members and the generosity
of the businesses and residents of Laguna Niguel, the
event raised $50,000.
With the 1st Battalion, 4th Marines and USS Stockdale
Sailors currently deployed, the Committee will be
working hard to help the units as they perform their
overseas duties, and assist their families here at home.
For more information about LNMSC, its activities, and
volunteer opportunities, please visit our website at

2019 marks an important milestone
for Laguna Niguel – it is the 30th
anniversary of cityhood! The City
of Laguna Niguel was incorporated
on December 1, 1989. 2019 will
be a year-long extravaganza of
“honoring our past, celebrating our
present, and planning our future.”
As one of the nation’s first master
planned communities, our commitment to quality of life is not
a newfound priority. The City of Laguna Niguel enjoys the
reputation of being one of South Orange County’s premier
cities. As remarkable as Laguna Niguel is now, the City
Council is not resting on its laurels, but instead is actively
planning for a remarkable future. The City enters the next
three decades by continuing on its time-honored path of
promoting balanced growth; all within a culture of solid
conservative organizational values. The future is promising
and the City will strategically plan to continue to support
its thriving and healthy economy, maintain amenities and
programs for residents of all ages, embark on innovations
for continued fiscal strength, and continue preservation
of the natural environment. Indeed, by holding true to its
values and through comprehensive strategic planning,
Laguna Niguel is poised to enjoy a successful future!
A place of opportunity and unparalleled beauty where
families grow and businesses thrive – a city like no other -
this is Laguna Niguel!
