Super Sitters Learn how to prevent accidents, what to do in case of an emergency, child development, do’s and don’ts, age- appropriate games, job searching, and finances. Don’t just be a babysitter – be a super sitter! Bring paper / pencil and please ask an adult to attend the last 15 minutes of class. Instructor: Charlene Jordan/Location: SCC, Yosemite Room 10934 F Sep 27 6-9pm This program for 6th-8th graders provides a series of workshops to educate middle school students about getting involved with their local government, and how their city does business with outside agencies. The monthly workshops are on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Workshop schedule: September 10, City Manager, Mayor and crosswalk safety; October 8, History of the Red Ribbon Week, Michele Leonhart-retired DEA Agent; November 12, Public Works and Parks and Recreation. Community Service hours are awarded each month. CPR, First Aid, AED Instruction The American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/ AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The courses in this program teach skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person and decide whether advanced medical care is needed. This program will include a two-year certification from the American Red Cross.
