Vibrant Neighborhoods
Code Specialists help with yard waste pickup
Over the past few weeks , our Code Specialists have stepped up in a big way to assist elderly and disabled citizens who have had missed yard waste collection . In one instance , Code Supervisor Biehl lifted a pickup truck-sized load of yard waste that had been sitting out for three weeks , without producing a single drop of sweat . The Neighborhood Services Department continues to provide solutions to Waste Pro in an effort to improve the service delays currently being experienced . Once again , we would like to thank all of our Code Specialists for assisting our residents in need .

Bulk waste drop-off sites remain open
Our four self-service bulk drop-off locations have been busy with several hundred residents delivering their bulky trash and yard waste since they opened for collection on Aug . 10 . To ease the waste accumulation and to provide residents with another option rather than waiting for service , the City of Port St . Lucie and Waste Pro established four self-serve drop-off sites . These free , bulky and yard waste drop-off collection sites will remain available to Port St . Lucie residents , Monday-Saturday , from 8 a . m . to 4 p . m ., until further notice .
What is City University ? The goal of Port St . Lucie ’ s City University is to provide residents the opportunity to learn about the City ’ s services and operations . Classes meet every Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p . m . for nine scheduled sessions , including a graduation ceremony .
