When we live our values, it
shows, and others notice. During
2018, City staff was recognized
for excellence by a variety of
associations and esteemed groups
throughout the United States, and
even internationally. The collective
recognition in 2018 includes:
Davey Awards
The Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts
recognized PSL with two Silver Awards for
the City’s website and the City’s overall social
media presence.
Building Inspector of the Year
Mr. Condane Rolle, a mechanical inspector and plans
examiner in the City’s Building Department, was named
Building Inspector of the Year by the Building Officials
Association of Florida.
FAPPO Award of Excellence
Procurement Management achieved the goal of being awarded the
Florida Association of Public Purchasing Officers(FAPPO) Award for
Excellence in Public Procurement for 2018.
NIGP Outstanding Agency
Procurement Management achieved the goal of being awarded the National
Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) Outstanding Agency Accreditation
Achievement Award. This award recognizes agencies that lead the public procurement
profession through the implementation of best practices.
Tree City USA
The City of Port St. Lucie was named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation for the 14th
year for its commitment to the vital role that properly maintained trees play in keeping Port St. Lucie
green and beautiful. The City of Port St. Lucie also received the Tree City USA Growth Award for
the 13th year. The Growth Award recognizes environmental improvement and a higher level of tree
care in the community, as evidenced by additions or significant improvements to the tree program
during the year.
Best Places to Work
The City of Port St. Lucie was recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in St.
Lucie County – the eleventh year the City has earned this prestigious honor. The
St. Lucie County Human Resource Association commissioned Personnel Dynamics
Consulting of Fort Pierce to calculate turnover rates, growth percentages,
employee development spending, promotion percentages, insurance packages
and retirement plans; a total of 37 different measurements to determine the
St. Lucie County’s Best Places to Work.
