Barbara Fowler
In the mid 80's, I was a DJ at WTCC fm radio in Springfield, MA and one of my favorite jams was a disco dance tune called "Come And Get My Lovin". It was recorded by Barbara Fowler, in 1984 on the U.S. Radar Record label. However, I didn't know she was Hartford, CT.
Today, Barbara Fowler is getting rave reviews for her debut Jazz album Soulful Reflections and its lead single, "I've Got Love On My Mind" which is an awesome rendition of the late great Natalie Cole's 1977 hit from her Unpredictable album.
Barbara collaborated with 2 time Grammy nominated Chris "Big Dog" Davis to produce her latest work which includes a guest appearance by saxophonist Kim Waters on "God Bless The Child".
Barbara's recording career began in 1982 as the lead vocalist for the trio group Sinnamon who's single "Thanks To You" hit #1 on the Billboard 's Dance Chart.
She has lent her steamy vocals to saxophonist Andre Ward's Crystal City debut album.
This is going to an incredible year for new jazz music by both seasoned artists and new comers to the major jazz music scene.
