Singing since the age of 3, J. Cee has racked up a number of prestigious awards that include winner of the International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA), Best New Artist in the Atlanta Caribbean Gospel Music Awards Association (ACGMAA), top 20 worldwide finalist of the BBC Next Big Thing in 2007 just to name a few.
This inspiring superstar says explains her motivation this way. “First of all I am a Christian and I believe in carrying the gospel of Jesus Christ and that is what I do in music.; encourage people and to take people into worship”.
J. Cee has shard the stage with some of the biggest names in the gospel recording industry like Donnie McClurkin, Kirk Franklin and Dr. Bobby Jones among others.
Her advice to up and coming artists is, “Make sure you love what you do because a lot of people get into music for the wrong reasons. You have to love it because it has its challenges and its ups and downs. And you know we have some bad managers and people come and make promises and if it doesn’t work out you’ll give up if don’t really want this. But, if you have the passion and the drive, every time you get knocked down, you’ll get right back up”.
