SuCh is a Boston born, New York raised, California educated, Chicago groomed independent Soul singer. She is riding a wave of excitement surrounding her single ‘Sugar Maple’ which peaked at #1 on the UK Soul Charts, the UK Amazon Soul/R&B MP3 Charts and the Independent UK Soul Charts.
In the U.S., it’s in rotation on several radio stations, most notably iHeart Radio, WYBC, Music Choice and Sirius XM’s Heart & Soul.
SuCh has also had her critically acclaimed acting debut as Celie in the regional premiere of the Color Purple, which earned her a Henry Award for Outstanding Actress in a musical and broadway World Awards for Best Actress and Best Acting Debut.
She’s since joined the Actors Equity Association and has starred in an Emmy award winning NBC Special Feature and in national TV commercials. On September 9th, she recently released her second album, ‘Trial And Error‘, that peaked at #46 on iTunes R&B charts and #2 on the Amazon R&B charts in the first week.
Just like her upbringing, SuCh’s road to music has been a scenic journey. It started at the age of 15 when she was invited to perform in the Grammy High School Jazz Ensemble for three consecutive years (2000-2002) and recorded a full length album with them each year.
She had the privilege to tour LA’s best jazz clubs and venues – The Brown Derby, Spaghettini’s, The Knitting Factory, etc. She attended the Grammy Nominee Party and the Grammy Awards where she met and shared the stage with Erykah Badu, Yolanda Adams, Patrice Rushen, Peter Cincotti, Kurt Elling, Dave Koz, among others.
She spent the next few years leading choirs, praise teams and congregations in worship in Boston, Chicago, and Denver. That led her to work with international recording artist K’naan on the choral orchestration and arrangement of his hit single Wavin’ Flag.
After making it through the end of Hollywood Week on American Idol’s 2012 season, she released her first album, Stretch Marks.
In 2014, SuCh gave stellar performances at both New England Tastemakers at the Cloud in Hartford, CT and at the summer Indie Soul Fest in Springfield, MA and sold out all of her boxes of her sophomore album “Trial And Error”.
