Fred ’ s Farewell
To my fellow Girl Scouts ,
Over the past twenty plus years I ’ ve been an active part of Girl Scouts of Citrus and am proud to say that I will continue to be a lifetime Girl Scout .
I ’ ve said before that one of the most amazing things has been watching my daughters and their friends grow up connected and close to people that they would have probably never met anywhere else . The friendships they ’ ve made are lifelong , and it ’ s exciting to see that some of them even have their own troops now !
Although the last year has been tough for everyone , I ’ m proud to see that Girl Scouts have made the most of the situation . Everything that our Girls and troops do during this year has proven that Girl Scouts are STRONG , and they ’ ve encouraged our board to do everything we can to help the movement that we ’ re all so lucky to be a part of .
You may know that the last few years we ’ ve focused on financial development of our council and we ’ re pleased that it ’ s helped us prepare for circumstances like these . This past year and moving forward we ’ ve expanded our focus to include leadership of the board , succession planning , and property development .
You have an exciting few years ahead with the Girl Scout convention , the Women ’ s History Center and our new STEAM center ! I look forward to all of these things coming up and the opportunity to see you in person again at one of those future “ inperson ” events !
In parting , I have to say that one of my fondest memories of being a Girl Scout has been these annual meetings with all of you and with Maryann . Maryann is SCOUTERRIFIC ! Although I ’ m going to miss our partnership , like all Girl Scouts , I ’ m lucky that we ’ ll still be good friends .
