GIRL & TROOP STORIES
REBECCA
Over the summer , Rebecca spent some time with Outward Bound Costa Rica . For the duration of the trip , she spent her time at their rainforest base in Costa Rica . Rebecca spent two weeks on course with the organization , learning about Costa Rican culture on homestays with local families . She was also challenged to step out of her comfort zone to participate in some adventure . Overall it was a unique experience for this Girl Scout .
Throughout the 2019 school year , Girl Scouts from Troop 855 at Millenia Gardens Elementary have been very active . While working in a meeting with mayoral candidate Aretha Simmons , the troop also took on community and project-based activities in the fall . The troop chose six different Nursing homes within the US and sent them a “ We Give You A Hand for Serving Heart ” as part of their Community Base Month in September . In the same month , the girls adopted a shelter and provided baskets of jeans , homemade quilts and two baskets for the You Matter Blessing Bags filled with toiletries .
TROOP 855
October was Homemaking month , where the girls made homemade pillows and learned to sew and crochet . November was Princess Within month where they learned about selfconfidence , self-esteem , self-respect and self-care by taking a yoga class . They capped off the month with their annual Friendsgiving Dinner and started December with a special baking activity .
“ It ’ s been an absolute pleasure to run Troop 855 ” expressed Co-leader Ms . Ford .
