S . for short ) - have spent the last 8 months learning about animals for the latest FIRST LEGO League Jr . Challenge : Creature Craze . Their research topic ? Bees , of course .
FIRST LEGO League , Jr . is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids ages 6-10 . Every year , the league chooses a challenge that invites over 40,000 kids from across the world to research a real-world theme and use basic engineering concepts to build a LEGO model .
Caroline Achee is a long-time coach and mentor for teams in Citrus Council . Currently coaching three teams , Achee loves " watching girls learn and grow as a person . As they progress through different programs , I see them add new skills ... both STEM and life skills , such as public speaking and teamwork ."
