Making Space for Girls Weekend

A nighttime launch off Florida ’ s Space Coast is always an amazing experience , but the August 29 , 2021 launch was extra special .
It was “ ALL SYSTEMS GO ” during the SpaceX launch as the inaugural Making Space for Girls Program sent three different science experiments , seven patch designs , and five essays to the International Space Station – all created by Girl Scouts .
In partnership with SpaceKids Global , Citrus Council launched the Making Space for Girls program to introduce girls to the wonders of space and the industries that support space exploration . With the support of ProXops and the ISS National Lab , Making Space for Girls issued a Mission Challenge for Girls Scouts around the world . 680 girls from 46 states , Japan , and Germany stepped up for the Making Space for Girls 2020 Mission Challenge .
In addition to the Mission Challenge , Making Space for Girls also found other ways to keep girls engaged and learning
