Consumerism

Consumerism comes from society´s custom for shops and supermarkets because the capitalist order demands these actions. Consumerism is a social, economic and ideological construct based on the acquisition of goods and services. In the domain of economics, consumerism refers to economic policies placing emphasis on consumption. Consumerism as a way of life across all domains has remade politics, economics and culture.

Consumerism is an actual problem in society because it makes us rely on technology in every way. Many people speak about consumerism as a path to satisfaction for the consumer and I think that this system places an idea which produces class differences which is what nowadays excludes marginalized sectors of the capitalist society.

To this we add the technological difference in this part of consumerism, that is to say that we cannot live without the technology that society demands.
