Changing things together

Mendez, Karina

The cell phone

Indoors, at the cafeteria. A group of friends are sitting all together playing with their mobile phones but in silence. There are six people: John, Mike, Paul, Mark, James and Ann. John's mobile phone runs out of battery.

(John looks up and sees his friends and calls them but Mike, Paul, Mark, James and Ann are playing with their mobile phones)

John: Has anybody got a charging wire? Hey, are you listening to me???

Mike: Stop it !

John: Hey, have you heard me? You are not paying attention!!

Mike: We are doing something now, can`t you see? This is important forus!!

John: (talking to himself) Today, using mobile phones is really common, being connected 24 hs a day, chatting with friends instead of being next to them. We are not paying attention to real people
