The Ugly Truths

Martínez, Ma. del Carmen

The Chibok girls went totally forgotten to the world, to the news, even when it’s been over five and a half months since their kidnapping.

We know who did it, we suspect where they are, but nobody is doing anything.

Is it because they are not American, like the Amish girls, neither white, nor rich? Are these girls suffering, being sold, and tortured because of our apathy, our racism, our indifference?

What can we do to stop this?

First of all, what if everyone that reads this article, tells the story to every single person they know and then, they do the same and so on? There would probably be a lot more people concerned about the issue, willing to make a change. Racism has caused these abductions and abuse, if people stop thinking about differences then the number of abductions will surely lower.

We can change the world we live in, we can raise our voice and speak against injustice.
