A neighbourhood worth an album

I live in Bajo Belgrano, that is a part of the neighbourhood of Belgrano. This area begins n the rails of the Bartolomé Mitre train and finishes in the Rio de la Plata, with Palermo and Núñez existing on its sides.

Bajo Belgrano was originally a swampy area, covered with reeds, which were always filled with the floodings of Rio de la Plata. This landscape began to change in the nineteenth century and with the arrival of the train, that today is called Ferrocarril Mitre, came the first inhabitants of Bajo Belgrano.

If I walk around its streets, there are a lot of important places. There’s a 700 metre tunnel running all the way from Palermo to Bajo Belgrano. The Excursionistas stadium is another traditional place of this part of Belgrano. It was constructed in 1911 and was opened in 1912. Its capacity is 8.000 spectators.
