The Message hidden behind graffiti
Everything we do, every attitude, every action shows our subconscious, our dreams, and fears. Graffiti could also be seen as a way of showing our thoughts and projecting our opinions on the walls. Graffiti is always used to express something. But what is being expressed?
There is a long list of things that are expressed in graffiti. One of them is what threatens us, the way society makes us follow implicit rules to survive in crowded cities. Many times graffiti also refers to the police force as a “legal” way of violence. Through their paintings, writers report a way of threatening people so that they do what the authorities want. They make everyone follow the rules or pay the consequences of their acts. On the walls, we could see both explicit and implicit references to violence.
