The change
Yesterday we finally got freedom in South Africa. Nelson Mandela became president and I will play an important role in his government. I cannot believe everything we went through to get to this point, Mandela is the president of our nation.
Many things have happened since the last time that I was part of the revolution. My mom always wanted me to have a good future, therefore, when I was 13 years old I went to London because I had won a scholarship. I had to study out of my country because of the bad politics and the civil war. There in high school I met really committed people with the political situation in Africa, specially in South Africa. Also I met Jerome, a quiet boy from south Africa, who had also come to London to study.
We got really involved in the cause of our country. We started marching on the streets for people to know what we were fighting for. I remember once that we went to de BBC studios to talk about this situation. It was great, people really got involved in the cause and helped us, we collected a lot of money, which we sent to South Africa
