What Can CIRO Awarding Organisation Offer?
Under the authority of a Royal Charter, CIRO are permitted to create qualifications, awards and learning programmes. Our approach is a collaborative one, working closely with industry leaders, subject matter experts and relevant
32 stakeholders to create nationally important potential qualifications. We recently partnered with Network Rail to launch three levels of capacity planning learning programmes.
Endorsed Courses
An endorsed course is a learning program that CIRO AO can assess and approve as a valuable and suitable platform for learners.
When CIRO endorses a course of learning, it signifies our trust in your capability to create and provide top-notch courses within your areas of expertise.
While we don’ t dictate course content, design, or assessment procedures, our CIRO endorsement status serves as proof that you consistently meet the rigorous standards we expect from our Recognised Centres. This ensures a high-quality learning experience that equips learners with essential skills and knowledge in specific subject areas.
It relies on an agreed specification of the quality assurance actions and mechanisms you use to maintain standards. The external quality assurance provided by us is the same as you would experience on a regulated programme – however, the sanctions would be restricted – which is not possible on a non- endorsed programme. When our Quality Consultant assesses your program in comparison to our Endorsed programme standards, you’ ll receive comprehensive feedback regarding potential areas for improvement.
Creating Rail Specific Qualifications
Whether it is creating a new qualification specific to your organisation or joining in the national sector specific qualifications which your organisation would like to participate in, the CIRO Awarding Organisation is here to guide you through every step. We run subject matter expert groups on most rail ops topics continuously.
Engaging in the development of sector-specific qualifications is a win-win, benefiting both your organisation and the industry as a whole. Your expertise shapes the future, empowering professionals and elevating your own standing in the process.
Please get in touch with us to discuss your qualification priorities or your willingness to participate. We can explain our seven-step process and describe the groups we have running currently.
