The First day we had to meet early at school, we were all very excited. With 4 pupils and 2eachers were we ready to go. This was the first time Manou and I were going to England.

After saying goodbye to our family we went to Airport Zaventem by taxi.

When we finally arrived in Newcastle, we searched a lounge where our lovely teacher, mister Amkreutz could sit somewhere with our luggage. With our other lovely teacher, miss de Macker, we went on a small tour through Newcastle. we met with the French, Italian and the Spanish students somewhere in the evening. It was nice to see everyone again!

We went to Broomley Grange with all the students where we stayed for a week.

Broomley Grange was very cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After we had separated our rooms we went to sleep. Our week could begin!

On Monday we began the day with a united cozy breakfast, after we had breakfast we went to play some games where teambuilding was very important.

We had to do a lot of parcour with a bucket filled with water .

There had to be a lot of water remaining.

The bucket was pretty heavy at first but the more water fell out the easier it got.

We got some time to clean up ourselves after the games but me and Manou went to play hide-and-seek with the dogs. We had the hide in some sort of bag en the 2 dogs had to come and find us. It was so much fun!

After that we had to form some groups and do some searching-games, it was very nice. The nice thing about those groups that day is that you were able to know to people better.

In the evening we sat around a very nice campfire and after that we played some card games and like that, our first day ended.

On Tuesday we had to walk 13.8 kilometers from Broomley Grange to Corbridge by only using a compass!

The landscape was full of hills and very beautiful to see. We were so proud when we arrived in Corbridge.

We were so proud that we were able to walk 13.8 kilometers on our own.

We got some free time in Corbridge and afterwards we went back to Broomley Grange by car.

On Wednesday we went to Shotton Hall, the school of the English students. We got a little tour around the school and we also followed short workshop with some of the students of Shotton Hall. We had to solve a lot of puzzles, which was quite fun. The school was only 6 years old and was very modern, the students in this school also have to wear uniforms, something we don’t have in The Netherlands. We also ate lunch there, which was really good. In the afternoon we went to Durham, where we visited a castle, which is one of the 3 castles where Harry Potter is recorded. We walked around the city for a bit and we had some free time as well.

On Thursday we went on a bike ride near a lake in the north of England, only a couple of kilometers away from Scotland. The bike ride was a total of 40 kilometers, which we cycled in about 4 hours, with a couple of breaks in between. After that, we went back to the Broomley Grange.

On Friday went walking again. We walked over a beach and came across a couple of castles as well on the way. When we came back from our walk in the evening we had a barbeque and after that, a band came and we did a lot of traditional dances from countries like England, Scotland and even America. I had a lot of fun doing these dances, some of them were quite hard, but it was very funny to do this with a lot of the students and teachers!

On Saturday we left again to go to The Netherlands. We left around 7:30 in the morning and we were back home around 7 PM

We have had so much fun this week and we’ve done a lot of cool stuff with all of the students from all these countries. We want to thank King Ian for the amazing stories and the program (just everything) , the crew of Broomley Grange for the amazing week, the lovely women who made food for the whole week, our amazing teachers and all the students of course!

I’m so happy we had the opportunity to come this week because I honestly wouldn’t want to have missed it!
