TRAINING

Advanced Development Workshop in Galway 18-20 September

With the support of the BAI Sectoral Learning and Development Fund, Creative Europe Desk MEDIA Office Galway will organise a 3-day Advanced Development Workshop with Screenwriter and Script Consultant Emmanuel Oberg from 18th-20th September in Bearna, Galway.

Over the last few years, Emmanuel has written feature film screenplays such as Beast Quest, a family film adapted from Adam Blade’s popular series of children’s fantasy books, developed by David Livingstone, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for Working Title Films (Universal Studios) and Number9dream, a Yakusa thriller adapted from the novel by David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas), developed by Lee Thomas (Crush, Road to Guantanamo) and Paul Webster (Atonement, Anna Karenina) for Film4, with Asif Kapadia (Senna, Amy) attached to direct.

Based on the innovative Story-Type Method® the aim of this 3 day workshop is to equip TV and film writers, directors, producers and story editors with a set of storytelling tools that help develop each project as effectively as possible.

The workshop will detail how participants can identify the story-type of their projects early on and adjust the development process accordingly, making it easier, faster and hopefully leading to stronger screenplays. Emmanuel will also be available for one-to-one script consultancies on September 21st.

There are a maximum number of 20 places available on the Workshop and applicants should be available to attend all 3 course days.

Application Deadline: August 15th
