K iara Advani was born to Jagdeep Advani, Businessman and Genevieve Jaffrey, a teacher of Punjabi, Scottish, Irish, Portu- guese, and Spanish ancestry. Born as Alia Advani, Advani changed her first name to Kiara prior to the release of her first film, Fugly. The elder of two children, Advani has a younger brother, Mishaal. She is also related to several celebrities via her maternal family. Actors Ashok Kumar and Saeed Jaf- frey are her step-great-grand- father and great-uncle, respec- tively, whereas model Shaheen Jaffrey and actress Juhi Chawla are her aunts. Advani made her acting debut with Kabir Sadanand's comedy- drama Fugly, in which she fea- tured alongside an ensemble cast including Mohit Marwah, Arfi Lamba, Vijender Singh, and Jimmy Shergill. Advani's next film role was in the Neeraj Pandey-directed biographical sports drama M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, about the life of MS Dhoni, an Indian cricketer who was the former captain of the Indian cricket team. She featured in Karan Johar's segment, play- ing Megha, a newly married wife whose husband fails to recognize her sexual dissatisfaction. Later that year, she made her de- but in Telugu cinema with Korat- ala Siva's political thriller Bharat Ane Nenu, about the story of a student (played by Mahesh Babu) who unexpectedly becomes the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Advani was cast opposite Ram Charan in Vinaya Vidheya Rama, a Telugu film. She then signed a bunch of Bollywood films and she recently featured in the female lead's role in Kabir Singh that has Shahid Kapoor in the lead role.
