PUBLISHER’S WORD
The future is now
B
oeing are developing a hypersonic jet that would cut travel
between Europe and Australia down to under five hours.
It may sound like sci-fi stuff, but the fact remains that travel
will be revolutionised in the same way as communications
in the not too distant future. And that has really significant
ramifications for Australia. As a nation we have been forced to
be a leader in our business events offering thanks in no small
part to the tyranny of distance. People really have to want to
come here. So far we’ve made good on our promise, with more
incentive groups from China seeing the benefits of bringing
their high achievers here. They are also exploring further afield
than just Sydney and Melbourne, with Brisbane and Adelaide
appearing on the radar now they have the infrastructure to support big groups.
Regional destinations such as Port Douglas and The Whitsundays are also punching
above their weight with their access to natural icons. Our mixture of amazing natural
wonders, unspoilt landscapes and world-class food and wine have done us proud so
far. Now imagine how far Australia can go when you can be here in the time it takes to
watch two movies!
