It’s October.. and it’s the best month of all for our kind, so lets find the shows, hit the venues, and support the Vermont and New Hampshire Metal scene as much as possible! I got to give a very enthusiastic two horns up to Local Burger in Keene, New Hampshire for throwing some Zombie Beatdown acoustic style to the crowds last weekend. What a cool show, and a great performance by ZB. To see them a bit out of their element was awesome and I hope to see them thrashing away soon. Got a couple local bands for you to check out, enjoy your October!! You know I will.. Dystrot Kenia Kickin it out of Rutland, VT comes Dystrot! Formed in 2012, this 5-some is making some serious noise on the local circuit with a unique lead singer that you don’t quite expect. Meet Angela Champine (Vocals), Sean Moore(Guitar, Backup Vocals) Gene Lopez (Guitar, Backup Vocals) Mike Paul (Bass), and Jeff Bixby (Drums). Their first CD is due out in the next few weeks and I can’t wait to get my grubby little paws on one. Angela’s lead vocals aren’t just simply adequate, they are incredibly impressive and the musicality and technique of the band is hard to ignore. Be on the lookout.. these guys are worth your time. These guys came flying onto the radar just days ago and I got to say, I love the description, attitude, and raw sound of Sunken Ships. Self described, “If Sharks wrote music, this is what it would sound likem”, and “we’re three dudes playing instruments and one guy screaming”, Sunken Ships may just be the most confusing, most interesting, most fun band in New Hampshire right now... and they could care less. So Metal. ken Ships Sun
