them accepting who you are.” Preston, who does not have the typical rockstar swagger or ego of many musicians, graduated Souhegan High School in 2011, a school known throughout the state for their dedication to the performing arts. “My parents definitely pushed me. I had a high school band with friends and they would always support me and go to the all the shows,” said Preston. “They always really wanted me to pursue music, ever since I started singing and then school of course offers a lot of opportunities to play.” Preston was in the concert, marching, and jazz bands while in high school, as well as an original rock band with friends, called Undertow, who played out occasionally at bars they could get into. He attended the University of New Hampshire after high school, dropping the band classes for business ones, but still focusing on his songwriting and acoustic guitar performing, with his friend and fellow musician Dustin Newhouse. He and Newhouse formed an acoustic duo together called Less Than Three, and started performing around campus and the NH seacoast area, opening for a band at The Stone Church in Newmarket and playing local house parties and open-mics aroun
