“I
cannot put a time on when I
began playing. I began arranging ‘drum kits’ for myself as a
toddler. Singing and drumming
always went together for me,” said Pam
McCann, a self-taught drummer and
singer from the North Country of NH
and VT, who began performing professionally at the age of 16.
McCann, who has a voice that is
raw and powerful like Susan Tedeschi
and also jazzy, sweet and smooth like
Etta James, has been down many musical roads in her life. Being a musician
was a path that she did not choose, but
the only honest direction she could take.
Twisting through cover bands, then arriving at an original band that garnered
a lot of regional success, which led her
to a management deal with Sonalysts
Studios in CT, also known as the New
England Film Studios and home of The
Power Station New England.
Also well-known for her affiliation and
project planning for many venues and organizations in the North Country, both
NH and VT, McCann is a valuable asset
to the local music scene on so many levels, past present and, most certainly, future. Currently she is working with Catamount Arts in St. Johnsbury, Re-Source
in Barre, and Great River Outfitters and
Path of Life Garden, both in Windsor, VT
and more.
Venturing down roads brought McCann guest appearances and a lot of col-
