Tinkers, was next up to perform. I have to say that this quartet was my favorite find for a small local band. Others seemed to agree, as I overheard a woman say,“ This band is my favorite discovery of this year’ s festival.” Violinist, Zoe Darrow, is an astonishing musician. This band was only founded in 2011 and I can only imagine we’ ll be hearing and seeing more of them around.
All weekend I had been hearing the name Todd Snider. I wasn’ t sure why, I just kept nodding and going on my merry way. Well after listening to the one-man band from Portland, Oregon perform, I now understand what the fuss was all about. I highly recommend everyone checks out this guy. He is a wonderful storytelling musician who incorporates nothing but real life and humor into his tales.
“ This record doesn’ t come from good times. I wanted to sound the way I feel, which sometimes means sounding like a broken soul,” he said. His latest album released in March is titled, Agnostic Hymns and Stoner Fables. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
After Todd’ s performance on the Main Stage, I fell in love with another New England band, Lake Street Dive. continued on page 54
