Winter Holidays

What winter holidays do you celebrate?

There are many winter holidays, people believe in different things and celebrate different holidays. Some of the winter holidays people celebrate are, St. Lucia day, Hanukkah, Russian Orthodox Christmas, and Traditional Christmas.

Hanukkah is celebrated by Jewish people. This holiday lasts for eight day, each day represents one of the candles that is lit each night. Many Jewish families have parties on all of the days or on the last day. Families eat traditional foods such as, sufganiyot (jelly filled donuts), and latkes (fried potato pancakes). Families also exchange gifts, on each day you get a different present. Also most people play dreidel.
