Glenat Duxbury Interior Design was tasked with transforming an awkward 1990s-era layout into a modern, family friendly retreat. A pocket door separated the dining area from the kitchen, while a breakfast nook positioned in front of the patio doors created congestion and restricted flow of the space. The redesigned kitchen replaces a short, narrow island with a larger one that provides generous counter space, comfortable seating and smart, space-saving storage. Crisp white Shaker-style cabinetry keeps the space bright and timeless, while accents of white oak add warmth and organic texture. A striking illuminated shallow cabinet creates a dramatiic display for family treasures while preserving comfortable seating at the island.
