The perfect Reuben sandwich is quite simple to make - and purely delicious . Start with Winnipeg rye bread , buttered and grilled in a skillet . Meanwhile heat your favourite corned beef in the oven with a little water wrapped in foil . Warm up Elman ’ s sauerkraut in a saucepan with a little water too . To assemble , just spread Russian dressing on the ‘ ungrilled ’ sides of the bread . Pile on the meat and the kraut . Top it all with a couple slices of Swiss cheese and close the sandwich . Throw it into oven until the cheese is melted and gooey . Serve this delicious sandwich with a tangy Elman ’ s pickle .
