The view of rolling prairie fields through darkly framed windows complete the vision . Distressed beams along the vaulted ceiling emulate hand-cut timber and match the wood
finish of the island . The unique shape of the island and its ornate corbels lend it grand stature . Neutral colours and natural stone countertops exude warmth , while the large wrought-iron chandelier centrepiece , glitzed up with glass decorations , provides sparkle . Crackle-finished ceramic backsplash tiles and rag-finished white walls hint to an imperfect , weathered look one might imagine from mid-1800s France .
