pen concept can seem like an unattainable dream when starting with two small, cramped
rooms and wishing to maintain an elegant dining space for entertaining. This mid-century
enclosed Tuxedo kitchen was accessed through a standard doorway and offered no interaction
with adjacent dining room. Both spaces were underachieving. After being told by a few designers
a center island wasn’t possible in a space with such limited dimensions, the homeowners took the
challenge to another professional. The next opinion they received, proved to be the beginning of a
