ciao! / oct/nov / two thousand seventeen
publisher’s note
C
iao! celebrates the f lavour
of Wi n n ipeg’s food a nd
fashion. Each fall the scope of
our coverage includes creativity
in homes. This issue features
the winners of Ciao!’s annual
Kitchen Design Competition
presented by Steinbach Credit
Union. This contest once again
confirms that creativity shines
in Winnipeg homes. Styles vary,
ref lecting personalities of home
owners, and their needs, but all the
winners executed beautiful spaces.
Beautiful materials, and the newest
technology are combined with
smart space saving storage, and
the results are spectacular. The
grand prize winner will enjoy a
gourmet meal prepared in the new
kitchen by Chef Michael Brown of
DeLuca’s. If these kitchens leave a
lasting impression that inspire you
to begin your own renovation, a
list of Kitchen Suppliers has been
provided to get you started.
Speaking of smart kitchens, the
ciao! team joined Chef Alfonso
Maury Inthekitchen at Corrientes
and learned about the ones around
the world he has cooked in. He is
joined by his kin, and has turned
a life-long cooking passion into a
family affair.
Fall is fashion’s biggest season, and
ciao! fashion offers a look at what’s
transparent in local stores. While
nipple baring looks may titillate
on the runways, a more mid-west
modest selection of sheers allows
ladies to play with this trend in a
variety of ways.
If you wou ld li ke to share
Ciao! with someone who loves
discovering the city’s best places,
