“ WOW” FACTOR The sleek handleless cabinets were achieved by welding aluminum extrusion with black powder coat.
Urban downsizing has become stylish and condo renovations are on the increase. To overhaul this closed-off Osborne Village space, designers of Fireside Design Build Inc. removed the wall between the kitchen and living room to create one open area.
The weight bearing wall dividing the island is wrapped in custom blackened steel and decorated with herb garden, glow lights and a metal pot rack
that finish and finesse the look. Blackened steel also dresses the entry-way to give the whole space cohesion. Smoky concrete counters are sleek and have drainage cut outs to ensure minimum clutter.
To maintain an open and airy look, the storage designs includes transparent mesh shelves to house nonperishable foods. Rich wood is used abundantly to warm up the steel and concrete finishes- achieving an industrial yet cozy loft look.
