last bite When did you begin playing soccer? I was 5. I'm 28 now. When did you know you wanted soccer to be your career? I always knew I wanted to play sports as a professional. I feel soccer chose me at a young age. At 12 I specialized in soccer. I watched 2006 World Cup - it was the thing that cinched it for me. How long have you been playing soccer professionally? This is my 6th year. I was playing in Edmonton for four years and Ireland for a year. Winnipeg’s your home town. What’s it like being on its fi rst pro soccer team? Incredible! This has always been a dream of mine. To have family and friends in the crowd is just amazing. What did you miss about Winnipeg when you were away? The people! Every time I come back, the people are like a breath of fresh air. Everyone says hi to you! Of course my friends and family are here too. What could you eat happily every day? Pizza. I’m a big BIG pizza fan! What’s your favourite cheat meal, and where do you go for it? I love Italian – Colosseo would be my spot. I like to relax on a patio, enjoying company and conversation - good food and fresh air. It doesn’t matter the place. I just like to be outside. What’s your favourite Manitoba day trip?
