James Culleton
Inspired by the places he has been and the people he sees , James Culleton captures scenes that depict events , performances and people in his drawings . He published several books , including Lyrical Lines , a visual who ’ s who of local musicians in some of Winnipeg ’ s most venerable venues . He sells his art at the Pulse Gallery at the Forks .
Festival du Voyageur - a long time beloved event of Culleton ’ s – delivers a multisensory experience ripe for artistic interpretation . “ I love the smell of the wood chips and the fires and of course seeing all the snow sculptures ”, he says . To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Festival , Culleton created a series of 50 celebratory drawings and these are images from that series .
