FROM SOUTH
AMERICA WITH LOVE
S
o much of the South American dining experience reflects the wines that are produced in Argentina,
Brazil and Uruguay. An impressive number of International awards have been attained by wineries
from these countries. Yet, it is only part of the story we have come to appreciate. So much of the
wine excellence can be traced to small, family owned vineyards with an unwavering commitment to
environmental sustainability and fair trade. The relationships we have developed with South American
wine families have led to a robust wine list at Hermanos that we are proud to share with our customers.
On behalf of our wine partners at De Luca Fine Wines and my wine service team at Hermanos, we
would like to introduce you to some of our favourite wineries.
- Owner Noel Bernier, Hermanos
Bodega Sottano - One of the pioneers in the
Cuyo region’s viticulture industry was Fiorvante
Sottano. Since 1890, upon arriving from Italy,
Sottano has been producing premium wines.
Nowadays it is led by grandson Ricardo Sottano
with his sons at his side. Sottano wines reflect
family traditions that have been maintained over
several generations. Hard work is met with new
technology to preserve the gifts of nature. Every
detail of the wine making process is carefully
considered, and the resulting flavours are inspired.
Bodega Bouza - This is another winery
born as a family enterprise driven by the love
of countryside and fruits. This family adheres to
a fundamental premise that small scale work
always offers better results. To achieve this, the
whole process is followed obsessively, from
vineyard to glass.
Bodega Stagnari - Stagnari is a family winery
focused on premium products, and renowned as
the most awarded Tannat Winery in the World!
These wines have been recognized in more than
ten countries by the most demanding of palates.
Grapes are harvested by hand and carefully taken
to the winery for production of premium wines.
