The CIAA is the nation ’ s oldest historically Black athletic conference . Its Men ’ s and Women ’ s Basketball Tournament , held this year at CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore , has become a must-see event in the African American sports community nationwide and is uniquely one of the only sports divisions and tournaments to put male and female teams on the same playing field . The annual tournament offers so much more than just college basketball , it has educational events for students , meetups for alumni , Fan Fest at the Baltimore Convention Center and more . It is a tradition that honors Black history and culture , celebrates legendary athletes both past and present , and continues to play a pivotal role in shaping diversity , equity and inclusion on and off the court .
