PROMOTION & MARKETING ENHANCEMENTS
New in 2023
As an enhancement to the marketing for 2023 ’ s tournament , Visit Baltimore partnered with REJ & Associates to plan and produce all paid advertising for this year . REJ opened in 1991 and is headquartered in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore City . They currently have 12 employees and are a Black-owned corporation certified as a Minority Business Enterprise ( MBE ). Visit Baltimore also worked with REJ on all filming and video production for the 2022 tournament and was thrilled to expand their role for the 2023 tournament .
REJ ’ s CIAA team has the expertise and firsthand experience to reach potential fans , including a graduate of North Carolina Central University , an HBCU school and a former member of the CIAA conference .
This year , a larger advertising budget allowed us to add an additional month of promotional messaging . We were also able to raise awareness of Baltimore City by running Visit Baltimore spots in CIAA markets before the tournament advertising went live . This year ’ s campaign was majority digital to provide better tracking , in-market optimization and the ability to pivot messaging and targeting as needed .
As part of this this longer-running , multi-channel campaign to drive awareness and direct purchase across digital , print , radio and out-of-home platforms , the media strategy included several new placements in 2023 :
