What Can Your Congregation Do?


 Use bulletin boards, bulletin inserts, educational classes, and congregational prayers to address
Infant Mortality
 Provide culturally sensitive information to members on a variety of topics affecting women and
babies health such as obesity/nutrition, alcohol/tobacco/drug use, physical activity,
breastfeeding, and infant safe sleep
 Provide space for women to feel comfortable to breastfeed during worship service
 Support programs that promote the important role of fathers in pregnancy and parenting
 Encourage members of childbearing age to be as healthy as possible before becoming pregnant
 Help members get to prenatal care appointments and follow-up
 Develop a lending closet for safe cribs
 Link parents with prenatal education such as Moms2B (614-307-3348) and access to prenatal
health care through Pregnancy Care Connection (614-227-9866)
