Church School News
In the fall Church School and Nursery/Pre-K will continue using the "Spill the Beans" Narrative Lectionary. Children will be reading (or be read) the same scripture that we will be hearing during worship. The readings will be followed by activities that explain and reinforce the scripture message. Children are also learning The Lord's Prayer and the 23rd Psalm. We encourage you to pray with your children and talk with them and share together your thoughts and opinions about the Sundays readings.
• Oct. 7: Blessing of the Animals. Children will be in church for worship. They will lead The Lord's Prayer.
• Oct. 14: Matthew 14: 13-21. The Story of the Loaves and Fishes.
• Oct. 21: Genesis 33:10. Esau forgives Jacob.
• Oct. 28: 1 Kings 18:20-39. Elijah and the Prophets of Baal.
CROP Walk
Sunday, October 14
It's time to sign up to walk or support a walker in the 2018 CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, Oct. 14. The walk begins at Trinity UMC on Sumner Ave., Springfield, and will go through Forest Park.
Registration begins at 1 pm and the Walk steps off at 2 pm.
Proceeds from the Walk help to fight hunger and food insecurity worldwide, and a portion goes locally to three organizations: Open Pantry, The Food Bank of Western MA, and Lorraine's Soup Kitchen.
