Ms. Boileau

1) How do you feel working in an all girl school?

I mean in general it has a different energy boys and girls in the class. I worked at a transfer high school for a while. Transfer high schools are for students that are not successful in a more traditional high school, they have to transfer out in order to and get credits in time for graduation. So in general my students were ordered. Both boys and girls. And they had a lot of their life get in the way if that makes sense. In the school students are overwhelmed they more focused and diligent when it comes to their work. A pro in the all girls column is that you definitely see a sort of a sisterhood with women always sticking together. A negative I would say the first year I was teaching here I would notice especially in my acting classes was that the girls were a bit more judgemental with each other if that makes any sense I don't know if I still think the same way but I remember thinking it was an interesting dynamic.

2) What is your greatest achievement? Why?

Well giving birth, it's a pretty big achievement. It's hard and I did it twice. I'm proud of moving, my life starting over and I was like 26. I'm old to you guys but I don't think that I've lived enough yet to make life accomplishments.

3) What would we find if we opened your fridge?

You would find organic whole milk for my kids, tons of Apollo because that's how my son stays alive. Even Audrey the baby goes to the fridge and says “cheese cheese”. They're always eating cheese sticks. Go-Gurt, sriracha.

4) Have you ever had any awkward moments teaching?

It happens like on a regular basis when I ask a question and it falls flat and I have to rephrase it or regroup or it just sort of retake the temperature of the room and see okay is everyone on the same page what's going on here. I think the hardest moment is when your class is going how you expect and then a student says something and then it causes a spark and and then this than that and then there's a conflict and then how do you deal with that kind of moment. So that's always exciting
