A Prayer for Brown and RISD
REVEREND KIRSTIN BOSWELL-FORD
Associate University Chaplain for the Protestant Community
Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting you are God.
(Psalm 90: 1-2, NIV)
We worship you and give you praise, knowing that you, the great author of all creation, know
us so intimately that the very hairs on our head are numbered and beloved by you.
You embrace us with Agape, the selfless love of creator to created, and as an outpouring of this love,
you gave us the precious gift of your son, Jesus. Through your son, Jesus, we know that we have
been given abundant life, and by His example, we have been shown how we are to live our lives.
As we who profess to be followers of Christ seek to embrace the greatest
commandment--loving God fully, and loving our neighbor as ourself--we pray that
we might be shining examples of faith in action for the world to see.
God, help us to stand firmly against all that is not right in your eyes. Help us to stand firmly against all
injustice and wickedness in both high places and low. Help us as we seek your healing for this world;
praying for the day when justice will roll down like a river, and righteousness like a mighty stream!
Amen.
