AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH
MAX
KEVIN
C
hristian Review (CR): You
have been involved in the
music scene since the late
1980's, and still continue to release
music today. How did you discover
your obvious talent and passion for
music?
Kevin Max (KM): I started very
young by singing in church & in
school programs. It was the
constant support and belief from
other people that drove me to
become a professional musician.
CR: You were an original member of
the ever-famous dc Talk. Did you find
it difficult coming out of that group
and beginning a solo career?
KM: I didn't find it difficult at first...
It was a reaction to being together
on a bus for so many years. We
needed some space and freedom to
create in our ponds. Looking back, I
wish we could've made a couple

more... But genuinely I'm happy for
all the memories both solo & with
the bands.
CR: More recently, you had a 2 year
run as lead vocalist with veteran rock
band Audio Adrenaline (2012 - 2014).
What was that like?
KM: It was a great time with friends
that I have known for years. Dctalk
discovered Audio A at Kentucky
Christian College, and brought their
demo tape to Forefront. So I've
known the band for years, touring
with them and guesting on albums.
It felt like the 90's getting together
with them. I loved the awareness
we will able to raise for the Hands &
Feet project through the album and
tour.
CR: During the span of your music
career, you have collaborated with a
good number of artists. If you had the
chance to collaborate with any one
artist of your choice, past or present,
who would it be?
KM: I've actually collaborated with:
Larry Norman, Rich Mullins, Charlie
Peacock, Bryan Duncan, Mark
Heard, Michael W Smith, Amy
Grant, Vince Gill, Michael
McDonald, Ashley Cleveland,
Sonicflood, Audio Adrenaline,
Newsboys 1.0 & 2.0, Petra, Kathy
Tricolli, Carmen, Starflyer, Joanne
Cash, Rachael Lampa, Jonathan
Thulin, Stu G, All Sons &
Daughters, Matthew West, etc... ;)
