contributing artists lending their vocals and
musicianship. In fact, great musicianship is
displayed from start to finish, and
throughout the course of the album the
crowds can be heard passionately singing
along with the songs.
The latest Passion release, Even So Come,
was recorded in front of over 30,000 college students at three separate Passion
gatherings held in Atlanta, GA and
Houston, TX earlier in 2015. Every track
features an acclaimed worship artist, some
of whom are Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman,
Crowder, Christy Nockels, and Kristian
Stanfill.
However, all in all, I can honestly say that
Even So Come didn’t really strike a chord
with me as a listener. Don’t get me wrong,
there are a number of tracks on the album
that I really do like, but perhaps the songs,
and the album as a whole, would have been
a more powerful experience if you were at
the conferences when they were recorded.
In addition to including several well known
worship tunes, including “The Heart of
Worship” and “How He Loves”, the
majority of the tracks included on the
album are newly penned songs. And
because of the number of contributing
artists on Even So Come (as mentioned
above), the recording has the semblance /
air of a live compilation worship album.
Without doubt, Even So Come is a very well
produced live album, with some talented
Overall, Even So Come is a good live
worship album which exhibits a traditional
church worship vibe, but obviously with a
bigger atmosphere than your average
Sunday morning service.
Editors note: There are 2 editions of Even So
Come - Standard and Deluxe. The Deluxe
Edition includes an additional 6 tracks, 2 of
which are videos from an acoustic set. This is
a review of the Deluxe Edition (without
videos).
