AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH METAL GUITAR VIRTUOSO
CHRIS IMPELLITTERI
Christian Review (CR): Your last
album Wicked Maiden was
released in 2009. What have you
been doing in the last six years?
Chris Impellitteri (CI): I have
been writing the music for the
new VENOM record. I wanted to
make a record that would be
cherished by music lovers. I also
wanted to make an album that
could be as great as some of my
favorite records like Van Halen 1,
Ozzy's Blizzard of Ozz. etc...So
the writing process took a long
time to get this record perfect. I
am also involved in a band with

Rudy Sarzo called Animetal USA
which plays heavy metal
versions of ANIMETAL music.
We have been touring a lot
which took some of my time.
CR: Venom sees you once again
working with Rob Rock (on vox).
Do you and Rob work on songs
together and if so, who does
what?
CR: Your new album VENOM
features a striking cover of a
woman with snake tongue (and
tail) dressed in Victorian garb
and holding a golden goblet. Is
there a story behind the cover?
CI: I write all of the music and
Rob writes the lyrics. I
occasionally sing a vocal melody
to Rob so that he understands
the vocal melody I have in mind
when writing the music.
CI: The danger of Temptation!
We also feel that our new music
is very addictive which is like a
positive drug or Venom… It is
meant to be a fun addiction!!
CR: The new album (VENOM)
sounds great, how long did you
work on it?
