Lead Us Back is Thrid Day’s 3rd worship Album - the first in over a decade. MUSIC REVIEW Artist: THIRD DAY Album: LEAD US BACK: SONGS OF WORSHIP Rating: Genre: Worship, Country W hat can I say about Third Day that hasn’t already been said? They are an excellent, sold out for Jesus Christian rock band that since 1996 have released no fewer than 12 studio albums (including this one), two live albums, two greatest hits albums, and one Christmas album, not mention numerous EP’s and singles. And in all that time and with all those releases they have consistently been one of the top CCM bands, receiving much radio airplay ( the band has had 25+ number one radio hits) and selling 7+ million albums in the United States alone. For Fans Of: Hillsong, David Crowder Label: Essential Reviewed by: Christian St John Release Date: March 3, 2015 66 > CHRISTIAN REVIEW MAGAZINE Lead Us Back is a worship album, pure and simple. It features 12 wonderful worship filled songs that cause the listener to immediately ponder the greatness and majesty of God, and our relationship with Him. Musically you know from the beginning that this is Third Day. “Spirit” opens the album and sounds a lot like something Hillsong might have written - it’s soul stirring and inspiring. The rest of the album follows suit, resulting in a passionate worship album that musically has the sound of more traditional worship with overtones of country and folk added into the mix. Lead Us Back is a toned down album, so don’t expect the same musical gusto you typically get on a Third Day album - the guitars and music in general is not really rock oriented this time round. Instead this is an easy listening worship release similar to the other two worship releases by the band, Offerings 1 and 2. To be honest, there is nothing too groundbreaking on Lead Us Back, but it’s still a quality worship release by one of the premier Christian bands out there.
