TOP
PICKS 2014
2014 was a great year for the Christian music
scene. We saw many fantastic debut releases from
artists such as LNYX, We Are Leo, Shuree, NF,
HillaryJane, Spencer Kane, Steve Taylor & The
Perfect Foil, and Matty Mullins. There were also
many notable coming-of-age albums in which
artists seem to have found themselves, and a
sound that they can call their own. Some such
artists include Family Force 5, Sanctus Real, Manic
Drive, Chris Tomlin, and Fit For A King.
Here are some of our top picks from 2014…

MATTY MULLINS
“MATTY MULLINS”
Perhaps most well known
as the vocalist for
metalcore band Memphis
May Fire, this self-titled
pop/rock worship album is Matty Mullins debut

NEEDTOBREATHE
“RIVERS IN THE
WASTELAND”
NEEDTOBREATHE’s fifth
studio album, Rivers In The
Wasteland takes it’s name
from Isaiah 43:19. Brimming with thoughtful lyrics
and friendly southern rock tunes, this is an all
around champion release. A fantastic album
crafted by southern rockers NEEDTOBREATHE,
Rivers In The Wasteland is undoubtedly their best
release yet.
MAC POWELL
“SOUTHPAW”
An out-and-out country
rock album, Southpaw is
Mac Powell’s (Third Day)
sophomore solo release.
Full of toe tapping country tunes, there isn’t one
track on Southpaw that could be considered
“filler”. Between Mac Powell’s fantastic vocals
(that are very well suited to country music!), the
great musicianship displayed throughout, and
